The winter elements have met their match — the new 2016 Jeep® Wrangler Backcountry Edition is ready for a cold-weather battle. Taking cues from the Jeep Wrangler Sahara and winter athletes committed to stretching their limits, the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Edition is equipped with condition-conquering off-road capability and is designed to look the part on even the toughest winter trails.
When it comes to cold-weather performance, the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Edition is up to almost any challenge. For off-roading in the mountains on rocky inclines, the Mopar® rock rails are constructed of heavy-gauge steel tubing to provide rocker panel and lower body-side protection and resist twisting when sliding over rocks and boulders. And when a winter storm blows through the mountain pass, the Dana 44 rear axle with available Tru-Lok® electronic locker offers supreme capability in slippery conditions.
When cutting through drifts and exploring the winter wilderness, conquering the elements begins and ends where the rubber meets the snow. That’s why the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Edition features classic 17-inch Rubicon wheels painted mid-gloss black to match perfectly with the vehicle’s distinctive styling, along with big, hard-wearing BFGoodrich K02 tires, rated for all-season duty to provide traction in mud or snow.
The 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Edition was designed with extreme winter athletes in mind, adventurers who know as well as anyone that when performing in the winter it’s best to look good doing it. That’s why the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Edition is available in five colors — Hydro Blue, Black, Bright White, Granite Crystal and Xtreme Purple — and features a hood decal that wraps down the driver’s side for a distinctive look.
Additional design elements unique to the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Edition include interior Piano Black vent rings, door handles and grab handles, a vinyl-wrapped console lid, door armrests with Diesel Gray accent stitching, black McKinley leather seat bolsters with black sport mesh inserts, a nine-speaker premium Alpine sound system and all-weather slush mats.
For testing the trails and venturing farther into the elements, the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Edition is connected with features including Tire Pressure Monitoring, an Electronic Vehicle Information Center and Uconnect® Voice Command, allowing you to communicate virtually hands-free with a voice-activated system using your Bluetooth®-compatible phone, so you don’t have to hold back during winter off-roading.
At the Jeep brand we’ve been exploring the backcountry and cutting through snow drifts for decades, and this season will be no exception. Are you ready to drive head-on into the elements? Visit jeep.com to learn more about the 2016 Jeep Wrangler Backcountry Edition.
