Throwing a Summer Barbecue with the Jeep® Patriot

Is there anything more patriotic than a good old-fashioned American barbecue? How about a good old-fashioned American barbecue with a Jeep® Patriot rolling up to the cookout?

The best-priced SUV in America is ready for a barbecue.  With the Freedom Drive II® Off-Road Group, outstanding interior cargo room and a healthy towing capacity of up to 2,000 pounds, Jeep® Patriot is ready to haul all the fixings to your summer cookout. That means a grill, cooler, fold-up chairs, lawn games and the family.

And for those who take their family picnics seriously: In addition to towing capacity, Jeep vehicle accessories by Mopar® let you carry the load on your rooftop with a roof-mounted bike carrier, rooftop cargo basket, water sports carrier, bike carrier and roof box cargo carrier. After all, you need to burn off that potato salad one way or another.

  1. I AM THE OWNER OF 2009 JEEP PATRIOT. I AM THE 2ND OWNER. I HAVE KEPT UP WITH THE SERVICE MAINTENANCE ACCORDING TO OWNER MANUAL; TO INCLUDE ALL OIL CHANGES AS THEY WERE NEEDED PER SERVICER. NOW AT 74,367 MILES MY TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT. THERE WAS NO INDICATOR IT WAS AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON LITERALLY 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION. IT WASNT UNTIL THIS ISSUE I HAVE NOTICED THAT BEING THE 2ND OWNER THE LIFETIME WARRANTY IS NULL/VOID TO ME. WHICH I FIND INSANE. AS THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT EXPLAIN THAT IN DETAIL AS HE SAID THAT ANY WARRANTY LEFT WOULD BE THE ONE WITH VEHICLE. WHICH WOULD LEAD ME TO ASSUME THE LIFETIME WARRANTY. ITS NOT TIL YOU READ THE WARRANTY BOOK AFTER PURCHASE AND NEEDING SERVICE THAT YOU FIND THIS OUT; OR WELL THAT IS HOW I FOUND OUT. CHRYSLER/DODGE/JEEP DOES NOT WANT TO ASSIST ME IN ANYTHING. I FIND THIS INSANE AS THE VEHICLE’S TRANSMISSION SHOULD HAVE NO WAY GONE OUT THIS QUICKLY. I JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JAN OF THIS YEAR (2013). MY DEALER IS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL AND HAD NOT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASING THE VEHICLE OFFER ANY ADDITONAL WARRANTY – JUST WANTED TO STATE THAT FOR ANYONE’S CURIOUSITY. MY GRIPE IS THAT I AM HIGHLY DISSATISFIED WITH CHRYSLER/DODGE/JEEP AS THIS IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AS THIS LEAVES A BAD REPUTATION FOR THE COMPANY AS I AM UNABLE TO ENJOY MY VEHICLE FOR AN ENGINE PROBLEM SO QUICKLY. HOW IS THIS A GREAT VEHICLE TO HAVE IN MY VIEWPOINT ANYMORE IF THE COMPANY CAN NOT HELP. NO ENGINE SHOULD GO THIS QUICKLY ON A VEHICLE. I HAVE OWNED TOYOTA’S, NISSAN’S, AND FORD’S AND HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH ANY COMPONENT OF THE ENGINE EVEN AFTER 150,000 MILES. I AM SORELY DISAPPOINTED WITH JEEP OVERALL AT THIS POINT!

  2. well I just called that #…and guess what..still screwed. JEEP..YOU ARE WORTHLESS TO A CUSTOMER AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT QUALITY SERVICE. the guy on the phone actually told me it was the way I could be driving it. What??? he had noting to back up what he had to say. So I guess driving to work everyday like a regular commuter for employment; keeping up with the maintenance per the owners manual like it specifies (I have receipts to back up the fact) that the way I drive it will cause the transmission to go out before 75,000 miles. I really believe the guy was trying to say it was because I was a woman..because anytime I asked him to please explain what he meant by the way I could be driving it he had noting to say or explain himself. Well thank you JEEP….thanks for all your kind useless help in assisting a customer. I was lucky I was severely injured when I lost all acceleration going down the highway (on my way to work) when this happened. Nor did I cause an accident which could have led to others being injured because my Patriot lost acceleration with no warning within minutes of the check engine light came on. what faulty system the patriot had as there was no warning as I thought that was what the special dash light up were meant for. Thank you…really thank. A very disappointed customer with overall experience with Jeep. I will be filing a consumer report and letting others know to not purchase with Jeep.
