A View from the Desert | Moab Easter Jeep® Safari 2015

The 49th Annual Easter Jeep® Safari brought the Jeep brand back to Moab, Utah for another off-road adventure in the desert. For nearly half a century, Jeep vehicles have been taking on trails like Moab Rim, Cliffhanger and the infamous Hell’s Revenge.

The Jeep brand has made it a tradition to unveil new concept vehicles, featuring Jeep Performance Parts from Mopar, for a crowd of eager and enthusiastic Moab adventure seekers. This year was no exception. Take a look at the elevations we climbed and the people we met in the desert this year.

The Legend of Moab

The Easter Jeep Safari has been going strong for nearly half a century, since getting its start in 1967 thanks to the Moab Chamber of Commerce. What originally began as a one-day tour of the desert grew in popularity until Red Rock 4-Wheelers, Inc took over in 1982 to accommodate the increasing number of participants. The event has since grown into a nine-day adventure that encompasses over 100 trails, guided tours, showcases and events.

To this day, the Easter Jeep Safari remains a close-knit, family-oriented event. Among the highlights are the traditional “Big Saturday” vehicle show in downtown Moab, which kicks off a variety of inaugural trail rides.

The Easter Jeep Safari is the largest four-wheel-drive event in the world, so it’s a great way to meet fellow Jeep brand off-road enthusiasts and to take the opportunity to enjoy daylong trail rides and to experience firsthand just how Jeep vehicles perform on some of the world’s most challenging desert trails.

Trail Rated® and Ready

Jeep vehicles are particularly well-equipped to handle the trails at the Easter Jeep Safari. Our lineup of Trail Rated vehicles is designed and built to perform in the harshest environments, including the Utah desert.

And while our vehicles are off-road ready from the start, that’s no reason you can’t add Jeep Performance Parts to augment performance, for a little added toughness on the trail. Jeep Performance Parts, which are featured on the seven Mopar-modified 2015 Jeep Concept Vehicles we brought to Moab, are factory-engineered solutions specifically designed, built and quality tested to elevate the already impressive off-road performance of Jeep vehicles. Among the options are lift kits, beadlock wheels, big brake kits, axles and fender flares, just to name a few. To learn more about Jeep Performance Parts, check out the Mopar Performance Parts Catalog, and arm your off-road vehicle for any path you choose.

Whether you’re interested in modifications or eager to hit the trail, get beyond paved roads in a Jeep vehicle that allows you to get hands-on with the dirt, rocks and fellow 4×4 enthusiasts. The Easter Jeep Safari is a family-oriented trail that allows you, no matter your level of expertise, to experience Moab in a safe, controlled circumstance that uses your Jeep vehicle to its full potential.

Favorite trail? Who could pick just one? I’ve run Metal Masher, Hell’s Revenge, Steel Bender, Kane Creek Canyon, Poison Spider, Fins & Things and a few more. They’re all “favorites” for one reason or another.
